As Concerns About Social Media Advertising Escalate, A Potential Solution

[this is good]
Awesome article. I do think it could work, but don't vendors like google ads allready gear their advertising based on certain keywords? It would make sense to design an algorithym that would place negative priority on certain other keywords to lower the likelyhood of an ad being placed on an inappropriate site.
Google does do ads based on words that are related to the thing being advertised. But, to my knowledge, they don't let advertisers control which words/content they do not want to be associated with. With social media, it's looking more an more like advertisers are asking for protection that helps ensure that their ad is not placed on a social site showing controversial content. It's definitely a tricky issue with no current solution.
Hmmm... sounds like I've got a viable business model then... you wouldn't have a couple Billion lying around that I could borrow to take on Google with would ya?
Haha! If I did, I'd be doin' it! ;-)

In the glare of Facebook and MySpace hype the more mundane daily social interaction that occurs on thousands of sites is often overlooked. When users save, share via email, print to share or set news alerts for content they are interacting socially. Advertisers can align their message with this user-selected and recommended content.
